After a solid performance on the field last fall, the Fairfield High star has been attracting interest from several DI programs including, Vanderbilt University.
"Vanderbilt has really been on me hard," Josh said. "Florida Atlantic and Duke have really been on me too. Virginia, Virginia Tech, Furman, Wofford have been looking at me also. Those are probably the main schools that have been coming after me the most."
The Commodores have had a chance to view Josh's highlight film. And although they have yet to offer him a scholarship, the Vandy Coaching Staff has had nothing but positive things to say about him. "They really like my speed," Josh said. "My speed has really turned them on. I run a 4.53 in the forty yard dash. They feel like my speed would be really dominant on their football team."
"They are looking at me as an outside linebacker," Josh continued. "They said that they could really use me as an outside linebacker on their team due to my speed and my size."
Josh is hoping that a strong senior campaign on the gridiron would result into an offer from the Commodores. Not only is he moved by the fact that they play in the SEC, but he is also impressed with their high academic reputation… "I've always had an interest in Vanderbilt," Josh said. "When they beat South Carolina, I became even more interest in their program. Outside of athletics, they are a really good school academically. I would really be appreciative if they were to offer me. I would really feel blessed to go to a school like Vanderbilt."
Josh has a desire to go to medical school, and his grades appear to be in good shape to do so. He is holding down a 3.5 GPA inside the classroom, and has taken quite a few AP courses. He is on track to graduate in December with honors.
