Georgia is ranked fourth nationally in rushing defense, but beware, none of their division I-A opponents other than Alabama are rated better than 89th in the nation in rushing offense. Yes, the Dawgs are good at stopping the run but they haven't been truly tested yet. Although they struggled at Mississippi State, Vanderbilt has a rushing offense has performed well in every other game and averages about 160 yards a game. They should be able to gain good yardage on the untested Bulldog defense.

Vanderbilt has struggled with the pass in the first half of the season but much of the reason they have "struggled" is because they haven't needed to pass much. However, there's a new sheriff in black and gold named Mackenzi Adams. He passed for over 150 yards and a touchdown in a half against a tough Auburn defense. Georgia's passing defense has peformed poorly this season, allowing over 200 yards per game. Keep in mind that Georgia has played some good passing teams including Arizona State, Central Michigan and South Carolina.

This aspect of the game will likely decide Saturday's outcome. Expect Georgia to try to run the ball down Vanderbilt's throat. If they succeed it could be a long, long day for the 'Dores. Georgia's Knowshon Moreno is picking up close to 100 yards a game. He is a special player who we'll be watching on Sundays someday. Vanderbilt's rushing defense, led by Patrick Benoist and Steven Stone, is formidable and allows just 128 yards a game.

This category pits each team's strongest aspects. Bulldog quarterback Matthew Stafford averages almost 258 yards passing a game. Vandy's secondary, led by D.J. Moore and Ryan Hamilton, is one of the nation's leaders in interceptions.

Georgia's Blair Walsh is a solid kicker who has made 10 of 12 attempts. Vanderbilt's Bryant Hahnfeldt was perfect until the Auburn game. He's made 7 of 8 attempts this season. Both teams have outstanding return units and punters.

Coaching

Two great coaches who are class acts will face each other on Saturday. Mark Richt built Georgia into a fixture in the top 25. Vanderbilt's Bobby Johnson has Vanderbilt on the verge of their first bowl game since 1982.
