PETE'S PIGSKIN PROGNOSTICATIONS

I've missed 11 picks this year, and six of them are picks for or against Vandy. The good news for me this week is that VU is idle (some would say they were idle last week) so I won't miss picking them this week. Some very interesting games on tap this week, and I think there will be some interesting results.

Week 10
(6-1 last week; 54-11 overall)
The Geeks Shall Inherit the Turf....

Arkansas State @ Alabama – Everybody plays in this game. Tide by 42.

Tulane @ LSU – Another water-boy special. LSU by 42.

Auburn @ Mississippi – Ole Miss will pass the Plainsmen silly as Auburn struggles to find an offense. EVERYBODY beats Auburn. Ole Miss by 10.

Kentucky @ Mississippi State – UK barely eked out a loss last week against Florida, scoring only 5 points. Life on the road won't do them any favors, but Mississippi State isn't likely to be blocking multiple punts. Mildcats by 3.

Tulsa @ Arkansas – It's time for the Pigs to rise up and smite somebody, and Tulsa is a likely candidate. They've lost their last two games by a total of 3 points, and it's time for them to get their act together. Razorbacks by 6.

Tennessee @ South Carolina – Tennessee is just not as bad as their results indicate. Their defense will stifle South Carolina, and the offense will finally find a way to score enough points to win a game. Big Orange by 10.

Florida vs. Georgia in Jacksonville – Florida had a virtual off week, winning impressively by 58 against the Mildcats. Georgia also won impressively on the road at LSU. This should be one heck of a game. Florida's single blemish came when they forgot to play the last 5 minutes against Mississippi. Georgia's stat sheet is relatively uninspiring, just doing enough to win. On the basis of Florida's massacre of Kentucky, I like Florida to win. Gators by 6.
