Vanderbilt added its twelfth public football commitment over the weekend when Bryan Stamper, a 6-foot-6, 265-pound offensive and defensive lineman from Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, Fla., committed to the Commodores.

Stamper, a former teammate of Commodore freshman linebacker Kevin Joyce, was one of a handful of official visitors the weekend of Dec. 7.  Stamper was offered a scholarship on his visit and informed the coaches of his decision shortly afterwards.

Stamper was also reportedly being pursued by Rutgers and Wake Forest.  He led Lake Highland Prep to a 9-1 regular-season record this past season, but his team was defeated by South Sumter in the Region 2 final on Nov. 29.  He played on both sides of the line for Coach Tim Borcky's Highlanders, a traditional power in Florida's Class 2A.

Verbal commitments are not binding.  National signing day is Feb. 6, 2003.
