It's the Music City!

NASHVILLE-- Vanderbilt will face Boston College in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl on December 31st at 2:30 p.m. It will be Vanderbilt's first appearance in a bowl game since 1982 when the Commodores fell to the Air Force Falcons, 36-28, at the Hall of Fame Bowl in Birmingham, Ala.

Boston College, of the Atlantic Coast Conference, finished their season 9-4 and fell to Virginia Tech on Saturday in the ACC Championship game. The Eagles, coached by Jeff Jagodzinski, had big wins over Florida State, Maryland, and a regular season win over Virginia Tech.

The Music City Bowl was first played in 1998 at Vanderbilt Stadium when Virginia Tech defeated Alabama, 38-7. The game is now played in 67,000 seat LP Field, home of the Tennessee Titans.

Vanderbilt had a good chance to go to a higher regarded bowl such as the Chick-fil-A in Atlanta, Ga. but late season losses to Tennessee and Wake Forest lowered the Commodore's bowl attractiveness. This is Boston College's second trip to the Music City Bowl. The Eagles defeated Georgia in the 2001 game, 20-16.

Tickets to the Music City bowl cost between $15 and $70 and are available for order at this LINK.
