NIT Snubs Vanderbilt

The National Invitational Tournament apparently thought Vanderbilt was not good enough for their tournament. NOTE: Vanderbilt will not be participating in any postseason tournament.

Auburn, who played well towards the end of the season, was seeded No. 1 in the NIT tourney. Auburn lost 82-75 to the Commodores down at Auburn. Kentucky, which fizzled down the stretch and lost to Vanderbilt by 13 also got in with a No. 4 seed.

Florida was awarded a No. 1 seed and South Carolina, which Vandy beat by 13 recently, was awarded a No. 3 seed. However, no seed at all for Vanderbilt.

The Commodores will now await the announcements of the College Basketball Invitational Tournament and the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

UPDATE: Vanderbilt was not invited to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament and, according to the Tennessean, did not accept an invitation to the College Basketball Invitational.
