Vanderbilt Makes Great Impression

This 2010 prospect has already started making his rounds to various campuses for unofficial visits this year, with his most recent stop being in Nashville. VandyMania.com caught up with the 5-11, 175 pound prospect for a quick update on how things went down on his recent trip to Vanderbilt University.

B.J. Bostic was one of several recruits on hand when the Vanderbilt Coaching Staff hosted their Annual Junior Day festivities approximately two weeks ago. "I went up there with my dad, my mom, and my sister," the gifted athlete told VandyMania.com. "It was about a six hour drive for us."

Although the drive was a little lengthy for B.J. and his family, the trip was certainly worth their while. "They offered me while I was up there," Bostic said. "To be honest, I was expecting them to offer me. I would've been a little disappointed it they didn't (laughing)…

So with the additional offer from Vanderbilt, Bostic's list of offers also includes Connecticut, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Maryland, UCLA, and Georgia Tech.

Bostic and his family took a tour of the campus, and had a chance to see all of the facilities at Vanderbilt. "The campus was real big," Bostic said. "I almost got tired of walking (laughing). Their athletic facilities were really nice. They have a really nice weight room; strength and conditioning program. Overall the tour was nice."

First impressions can mean a lot, especially when a coaching staff is trying to lure a top-notched recruit into their program. Well apparently, the Vanderbilt Coaching Staff made a great impression on the 5-11, 175 pound athlete while he was on campus. "The coaches really made me feel welcome," Bositic said. "They treated me like a celebrity while I was up there. They really made me feel at home."

Bostic told VandyMania.com that he's looking to make his final decision sometime during the fall. He simply wants to take a couple of officials and see what each school has to offer. So until then, he will continue to take his recruitment one day at time…

VandyMania.com will have more on Bostic and his relationship with the Commodores, so be sure to stay in tuned for much more.
