The Road to Hoover: SEC Baseball Update

After the dust settled from a solid butt whipping in Columbia, all is not lost for the Vanderbilt baseball team. Because other teams also faired poorly this weekend Vanderbilt is still among the top eight teams in the SEC. However, the Commodores have another tough weekend coming up. This time the Commodores will head to Athens to face a strong Georgia Bulldog squad.

Looks like despite the disastrous weekend Vanderbilt still at least controls its own destiny. If the 'Dores can win a couple at Georgia they'll be fine heading into UT. It may seem pretty steep for the Commodores to beat Georgia after a terrible performance against an average USC team.  However, Vandy has had tendency to do better when the odds are against them, i.e. Florida and at Arkansas. A sweep in Athens could be the coup de grace for Vanderbilt's SEC Tourney hopes.  Right now though, all is not lost.
