Commodore fans meet Will Ferrell, a 6-3, 270 pound offensive lineman from out of Blythewood High School (Blythewood, SC). Ferrell will be making his return to the gridiron this fall for his final year of high school eligibility, where he will likely be penciled in as a 3- year starter for the Bengals.
Ferrell has been a member of the varsity football squad since his freshman year of high school, and has simply been a solid contributor on the offensive line for Blythewood High. And due to his productive performance on the playing field, the rising senior has been receiving an abundance of letters from several programs throughout the country, including your very own Vanderbilt Commodores.
"Vanderbilt has been sending me stuff pretty regular," Ferrell told VandyMania.com. At one point it seemed like they were sending me letters on a daily basis. They have been interested in me for a while now."
Obviously, Ferrell is not a stranger to the Vandy Coaching Staff, and apparently he's no stranger on campus, as he's made a number of trips up to Vanderbilt University. "I've been up there a lot," Ferrell said. "My sister played tennis there. We would go up and watch her (tennis) match, and then go to a football game afterwards. So I've had a chance to see just about everything up there. I really like what's going on up there."
Other schools that have been flirting heavily with the 2010 sleeper early on include: South Carolina, Duke, Furman, North Carolina, NC State, Buffalo, Michigan State, LSU, and Minnesota.
Should the Vanderbilt Coaching Staff decide offer Ferrell a scholarship, the Palmetto State sleeper should have very little problems getting admitted in. "My GPA is pretty good," Ferrell informed VandyMania.com. "I have a 4.05. When I took the SAT, I made a 1060 on it. I plan to take the SAT again in June. I'd like to get my score up to 1100. I also plan to take the ACT in June."
