Vanderbilt vs. LSU for SEC Title

HOOVER-- LSU defeated Georgia, 3-2, in seven innings to advance to Sunday's championship game. The Commodores and Bayou Bengals will collide at noon CST.

The game will mark a showdown between the winners of both the SEC regular season and tournament titles from the past two years. In 2007 Vanderbilt picked up both titles while in 2008 LSU swept the honors.

Vanderbilt (34-24) defeated LSU (45-16), 4-1, on Wednesday when lefty Mike Minor shutdown the Tigers. It is uncertain who will start on Sunday for Vanderbilt. There is some speculation that Mike Minor could pitch on three days rest. Other options include senior Nick Christiani, who has extensive starting experience and Drew Hayes. Vandy, who has a well rested bull pen, has many options and could elect to go with a pitch by committee strategy.
