"I was looking through my emails, the coach from Vanderbilt had emailed me and told me to call him because he had some exciting news for me. So when I called him, he told me that they had a staff meeting and that they wanted to offer me a scholarship."
Since receiving the offer from Vanderbilt, Priester and the coach have been staying in close contact with one another. "We have a great relationship," Priester said. "It seems like I've known the Coach for a minute now. It's like we are the best of friends. I love talking to him. I've been learning a lot from him."
Priester appears very intrigued about his latest offer from the Commodores to say the very least. He is simply moved by the fact that Vanderbilt competes in the SEC, which would give him an opportunity to compete on the highest level in college football. He is also impressed with Vanderbilt's reputation from an academic standpoint. But the ‘Dores will be in a tough battle for the Allendale-Fairfax Speedster, due to the fact that there are a few other programs under consideration for his signature.
"Right now, I'd have to say that Notre Dame, Duke, Georgia, SC State, and Kentucky are all in the mix with Vanderbilt," Priester said. "But if I have to choose a top two, I'd have to say that Vandy and Notre Dame are in the lead. But I still want to get out and visit each school to see what each one of them has to offer."
With that in mind, what's it going to come down to, whenever the Palmetto State standout is ready to make his final decision on a college destination? "Basically I want to see which coaching staff I am most comfortable with," Priester said. "And of course academics and the school's facilities will play a big part in my decision.
Priester is scheduled to be on campus one day next week. Which will give him a chance to see the city of Nashville, and most importantly what the ‘Dores have to offer. "I'll be going up to Vanderbilt on next Thursday," Priester. "They're supposed to be having a cookout for all of the guys they've offered. That'll give me a chance to hang out with the coaching staff, and check things out a little more in-depth."
We will have a recap on Priester's visit to Vanderbilt, so be sure to so stay in tuned with VandyMania.com for much more.
