Like many scholar athletes that consider Vanderbilt, Henry Anderson is looking for a good combination of athletics and academics, "That good combination of academics and athletics. I work really hard in the classroom and I want to go to a school that I can get a good degree from and a degree that stands out after I leave school. Definitely a good school academically but also a school that can compete for conference championship and be in the hunt for a conference championship each year."
Anderson has been busy with camps and getting ready for football season. He had planned to camp at Alabama last weekend, wasn't able to because his father was ill. He camped the week prior at Georgia and thought he did well. However, he didn't get an offer. "No, they haven't offered me. They told me they really wanted me to come to that camp to get a better look at me... I thought I thought I performed really well."
Anderson has visited Vanderbilt twice and attended the Florida game in Nashville. He also visited for one of the Commodore staff's junior days.
Although he is still interested in Vandy, Anderson seemed dismayed that Commodore staff waited so long to offer, "Vanderbilt, I'd been waiting for a long time. I was kind of disappointed; I got it a little bit later than I thought I would. I thought I'd be getting it earlier. They kind of offered a little bit late but I was still pretty excited when I got that."
The towering, 6-foot-7 player also mentioned Georgia Tech, Clemson, Wake Forest and Florida State as offers he was very excited to have. He says he does not have a favorite right now.
Anderson, who plans to major in Business Administration or Political Science, said that he might attend one or two more camps. He is considering attending the Florida State camp on July 10-12. He did not say whether or not he was going to reschedule the visit to Alabama.
The College Park, Ga. resident hopes to make his decision by the summer but might take longer if needed, "I'm going to take as much time as I need to be comfortable with my decision."
