Lowell Williams Update

Lowell Williams of Missouri City, Texas now has three offers. Texas-El Paso stepped up and offered the talented outside linebacker during a recent camp in El Paso. Williams, who also has offers from Colorado and Rice, has visited Vanderbilt and is receiving interest from Army, Navy, Minnesota, and Utah. Read inside for full details.

"I've been busy, a lot of camps and working out," said Lowell Williams. He continued, "I went to the TCU and the UTEP camps." When asked how his camp at UTEP went, Williams, who attended the Miners camp on June 18th replied, "It went good. I was offered by them!" Williams seemed excited about the offer and said that the UTEP coaches impressed him because they showed great patience and were willing to work with all the players there.

Williams also recently attended the TCU camp. He said that the coaches liked what the saw in him but want to see game video of him. He is going to mail them video from his junior season as soon as possible.

During spring break Williams made an unofficial visit to Vanderbilt. He was given a tour of the campus and talked to both defensive coordinator Bruce Fowler and linebackers coach Warren Belin. Williams enjoyed the visit but in regards to an offer was told by the VU coaches to, "give them some more time."

Williams said that he plans to camp at Houston on July 25 and also participate in Texas-San Antonio's upcoming camp.

Williams, who as a junior had 53 tackles, 3 sacks, and 11 quarterback hurries, also mentioned Minnesota and Utah as schools he has been hearing a lot from lately. He said he is very interested in finding out more about both. Additionally, Williams is receiving steady interest and contact from both Army and Navy.

The Missouri City star says he equally likes all the schools that are recruiting him and has no favorites right now.
