Vanderbilt's rushing attack, led by freshmen tailbacks Warren Norman and Zac Stacy, gains about 163 yards per game with Norman accounting for 65 of those. Both units had off games last week. Vanderbilt gained only 82 yards rushing against Kentucky while Tennessee allowed a eye popping 359 rushing yards at Ole Miss.

John Cole leads Vanderbilt with 32 catches on the season. Tennessee's passing defense, led by superstar Eric Berry, is rated as the nation's 13th best.

UT edge here. The Vols have a solid rushing attack (No.51/161 ypg) led by Montario Hardesty who is gaining almost 100 yards per game. Vanderbilt's running defense has gotten progressively worse and worse (No. 107/197 ypg) as injuries have mounted. If veteran Commodore linebacker Patrick Benoist can't play things could get even worse.

Two decent units face off here. Tennessee's passing offense, led by quarterback Jonathan Crompton is much improved this season. The Vols are currently ranked 50th nationally and gaining about 227 yards per game. Vanderbilt's passing defense (No. 7/ 160 ypg) is also solid. Cornerback Myron Lewis 10 career interceptions for Vandy but will not play due to injury.

Vanderbilt's Ryan Fowler has made 13-of-18 field goals this season. Daniel Lincoln has connected on 10-of-16 field goals for the Vols. Brett Upson is a solid punter averaging 43 yards a punt for Vanderbilt. He's downed 22 punts inside opponents twenties and has had 22 punts go over 50 yards. Chad Cunningham of Tennessee is also a fine punter. Cunningham has a 41 yard average with his longest going for 58 yards. Warren Norman has returned three kickoffs for touchdowns this season. Tennessee's David Oku has an almost 24 yard kickoff return average.  
 
Coaching
 
Lane Kiffin has assembled an excellent staff of assistants at Tennessee and the Vols are much improved. Bobby Johnson led Vanderbilt to their first bowl victory in over 50 years but has won only 29 games in his eight seasons at Vanderbilt.  
 
Intangibles
 
Vanderbilt has only won three games in November under Bobby Johnson. Tennessee can get bowl eligible with a win over Vandy.
