VU announces times/TV for first 3 games

The Commodores will play its opening two games of the season under the lights in Vanderbilt Stadium. Vanderbilt has announced times and TV for their first three contests: Northwestern, LSU and Ole Miss.

The Commodores' season opener against Northwestern of the Big Ten on Saturday, Sept. 4 will kickoff at 6:30 p.m., CT. Vanderbilt's first game against a Southeastern Conference opponent – Sept. 11 vs. nationally ranked LSU on campus in Nashville – will kickoff at 6 p.m., CT, according to league officials.

The SEC also announced that Vanderbilt's first road contest of the year, against SEC Western Division rival Ole Miss, will be a day game, with kickoff scheduled at 11:20 a.m.

The SEC office is not expected to announce additional starting times until the college football regular season begins in early September.

The Commodores' first three games also will broadcast by three different television networks. Television for the early season games is as follows:

• Vanderbilt vs. Northwestern, Sept. 4, Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS). Additional distribution is provided by and ESPN GamePlan.

• Vanderbilt vs. LSU, Sept. 11, ESPNU.

• Vanderbilt at Ole Miss, Sept. 18, SEC-TV, along with and ESPN GamePlan.

In 2009, the first year of a ground-breaking television contract for the SEC, Vanderbilt appeared twice on CSS, defeating Western Carolina 45-0 at home in the opener and topping Rice 35-17 during a midseason contest in Houston.

Season tickets for Vanderbilt's seven-game home schedule, beginning at just $125 each, are available. Besides Northwestern and LSU, the Commodores will host South Carolina (Oct. 23), Florida (Nov. 6), Tennessee (Nov. 20) and non-SEC foes Eastern Michigan (Oct. 9) and Wake Forest (Nov. 27).
