Collin Gillespie Named PCL MVP

Villanova commit, Collin Gillespie was named MVP of the Philly Catholic League ...

Villanova commit, Collin Gillespie was selected as the MVP of the Philadelphia Catholic League.  The 6-1, Class of 2017, point guard led the league in scoring with 24.1 PPG and, more importantly, led Archbishop Wood to first place in the Catholic League Standings.

His primary competition for the award was McDonald’s All-American, Quade Green (who averaged 22.8 PPG) and Green’s Neumann-Goretti teammate, and Villanova signee, Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree (15.7 PPG),

Archbishop Wood finished the season 19-3 overall and 12-1 in PCL play.  They earned the top seed in the upcoming PCL playoffs by virtue of their 82-73 win over Neumann-Goretti in which Gillespie contributed 42 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists (VUSports analysis of Gillespie in that game).
