The Coaches of the Big East Conference selected Villanova Senior Guard, Josh Hart as Big East Player of the Year!

Hart is also one of 10 players named Naismith Award Semi-Finalist and is in the running for National Player of the Year honors but with or without earning those honors, Hart is one of the most decorated players in Villanova basketball history ...

Hart becomes the 4th Villanova player named Big East POY, joining:

  • Kerry Kittles (1995)
  • Randy Foye (2006)
  • Ryan Arcidiacono (2015)
  • Josh Hart (2017)

Earlier in the week he was named 1st Team All-Big East, joining the following short list of Villanova players so honored multiple times:

  • John Pinone 3 (1981, 1982, 1983)
  • Kerry Kittles 3 (1994, 1995, 1996)
  • Ed Pinckney 2 (1983, 1985)
  • Josh Hart 2 (2016, 2017)

Additionally, Hart has earned the following Big East accolades:

  • Big East All-Rookie Team (2014)
  • Big East 6th Man of the Year (2015)
  • All-Big East Tournament
  • Big East Tournament MVP (2015) (Note: Kerry Kittles is the only other Wildcat to win BET MVP)
  • Big East Defensive Player of the Year (2017)

On the National Level, Josh Hart has been named:

  • Sporting News 1st Team All-American
  • USA Today 1st Team All-American
  • NBC Sports 1st Team All-American
  • Sports Illustrated 1st Team All-American

In the NCAA Tournament Hart has earned:

  • All NCAA Tournament (2016)

Statistically, Josh Hart is the 11th leading scoring all-time in Villanova history with 1,828 points, tied for 27th in Assists with 258, 18th in Steals with 153, and 16th in rebounding with 782 caroms.  Hart is the all-time leading rebounder in Villanova history among Guards.
