Bowers Picks Oklahoma

After making his final recruiting visit, a trip to the University of Arkansas, Brett Bowers has decided upon the college of his choice. Bowers has chosen to play college football with the Oklahoma Sooners.

Throughout his recruitment, it was apparent that Florida safety Brett Bowers was a huge fan of the football program at Oklahoma. Saturday morning, Bowers confirmed with VTI that he has selected the University of Oklahoma as the college of his choice.

Bowers received scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, and Syracuse, but his heart was set on the Sooners.

"[Oklahoma's] Coach Stoops is coming to practice Monday and I'll probably make a decision then," Bowers said. "It'll be Oklahoma."

Bowers, who said he would likely speak with the other coaches that recruited him on Sunday night, said that Oklahoma was just too good to pass up.

"You can't beat the coaching staff," Bowers said. "The Stoops' are awesome and I've got family there - can't beat that. It felt like home there, the best place."

Bowers noted that he will more than likely begin as a safety in college and may move to corner his junior or senior season.

Congrats to Brett on his decision and we wish him the best at Oklahoma!
