Four-star defensive end Luiji Vilain goes over 7 out front, Virginia Tech

Seven resonate with Vilain, more visits coming

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – Though a top seven isn’t set, there are seven standouts already for Episcopal (Va.) four-star defensive end Luiji Vilain.

Sunday, at the New Jersey stop of Nike’s The Opening Regionals, Vilain said North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Michigan, USC, Tennessee and Ohio State are standing out most right now. But next month is when he hopes to have a set top group.

Within that group, Vilain visited the Hokies early last month for spring practice. But before and since, he’s maintained a strong relationship with assistant coach Charley Wiles and defensive coordinator Bud Foster. Both continue to make their pitch.

“They’ve been telling me I can come in and have a chance to (make an) impact early if I put in the work,” Vilain said. “And that they love me.”

Vilain said he could have a decision made as early as next month as well. He has no set dates, but hopes to visit Georgia and Michigan next month as well.
