There was no need to wait for more offers. Muskegon (Mich.) two-star athlete Kalil Pimpleton had the school he wanted to go to in mind for some time.
On Sunday, he made his choice official, when he announced via social media that he had committed to Virginia Tech.
Pimpleton becomes the Hokies' ninth commitment in the 2017 recruiting class. He chose them over offers from Eastern Michigan and Ferris State. Assistant coach Brian Mitchell served as his primary recruiter.
At 5'6" and 155 pounds, Pimpleton relies predominantly on his speed. Mitchell and Virginia Tech have offered him as a returner on special teams, with the idea of incorporating him in packages on offense as a wide receiver and even out of the backfield.
