AAC, ACC schools still in mix No. 37 OG Dmitri Emmnauel

Dmitri Emmanuel is getting closer to making his college decision and he spoke with Scout about the latest developments in his recruitment.

"The schools I'm really focused on are Virginia TechVirginiaWake Forest and Charlotte," Dmitri Emmanuel said. "Those schools have shown the most love. Of those schools, Virginia Tech and Virginia haven't offered, but hopefully they will soon."

His next visit will be tomorrow.

"I'm going to Virginia and looking forward to the trip," 6-foot-2, 306-pound Emmanuel. "I've never been there, so I'm ready to see the campus and the atmosphere. I also want to get a feel for the coaching staff.I feel like they're close to offering. If that happened, it'd be pretty big."

Then on Sunday, he'll head to Virginia Tech for a camp.

"I'm ready to compete and show the coaches what I can do," Emmanuel said. "I'm definitely excited. I love going to camps and going one-on-one against defensive linemen.

"(Tight ends) coach (James) Shibest told me if I do well, then I'd most likely get an offer. We've built a good relationship. If they offered, that'd be big, too. I really like in Blacksburg."

Who has the edge for Emmanuel?

"Charlotte probably has a edge," he said. "They always stay in contact with me and want me to come visit. They're recruiting me the hardest and it definitely means a lot."

Emmanuel hopes to make his decision before the end of the summer.
