Breaking down five-star safety Devon Hunter

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Devon Hunter, the No. 4 prospect in the nation, can play a variety of positions, but one seems to be his best.

Evaluation Notes: Devon Hunter, the No. 4 prospect in the nation, is close to another list trimming and he knows several of the schools which will make it (see story insert).

However, once he gets to a college campus, where will he play?

After watching the Chesapeake (Va.) Indian River athlete perform at The Opening Finals at Nike headquarters, one of the safety positions seems to be the best choice (full evaluation in video above).

He measured in at 6-foot-1, 206 pounds and he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds, which was .01 second better than he ran at The Opening Regional. His time of 3.95 seconds in the shuttle was ninth at The Opening Finals.

Recruiting Update: Hunter maintains a top 11, but he told Scout the schools he speaks with the most are North CarolinaVirginia TechAlabamaAuburnClemson and Florida. He said he knows he will officially visit Alabama, and he could officially visit Notre Dame.

He said when he cuts his list again Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Florida will likely make it.
