For anyone in attendance, the speed of Jesuit (Fla.) athlete Travell Harris was impressive. At Virginia Tech's camp Sunday, Harris ran a 4.43 40-yard dash. But while he was ok with the time, he said he knew he could do better.
Already, Harris has double-digit offers, from a group that includes Missouri, Purdue and South Florida. The Hokies have yet to offer, but Harris' burst is tough for anyone to ignore, even them.
The visit to Virginia Tech, Harris' first, has him waiting for another possible offer. But he doesn't plan to wait too long.
"They (said they) they loved my elusiveness, my speed and my quickness and all that," Harris said. "I talked to all the coaches, Coach (Galen) Scott, Coach Wig, all those coaches. It's a great coaching staff."
Harris said he plans to visit a handful of MAC schools this weekend in Ohio, such as Toledo and also see Ohio State. A decision could come before the season begins.
