Publisher Jason Stamm and staff writer Delaney Hall recap VT's 36-13 win over Liberty.

Virginia Tech struggled early but shook off the cobwebs in a 36-13 win Saturday over Liberty. We go over the win and what stood out.

It wasn't quite the start that the Hokies envisioned. At least not for what they could control.

Virginia Tech got on the board first and forced the Flames into five false starts on one series in the first quarter. But the Hokies also coughed up a pair of fumbles that allowed Liberty to take a brief 13-10 lead.

From that point on, Virginia Tech got back on track, with 26 unanaswered points en route to the season-opening win.
