Dyami Brown's recruitment continues to pick up steam.
North Carolina: “It’s a big school and they’re doing a great job with the program,” said the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Brown. “I like the coaches and overall environment. I’m going back to visit when they play Virginia Tech (Oct. 15). I’m excited to watch the receivers and see them compete.”
“(Wide receivers) coach (Gunter) Brewer is recruiting me and he’s coached a lot of great ones through the years like Dez Bryant. He’s told me North Carolina will help me successful on and off the field.”
Virginia Tech: “Growing up, that was my favorite school. So the fact that they’re showing a lot of interest is great and I have family in Virginia. I also camped there during the summer and liked the way they did things. I'm going to the Miami game (Oct. 20). I know it's a big rivalry and I'm looking forward to seeing the offense.
“(Wide receivers) coach (Holmon) Wiggins is recruiting me. He told me I would fit well in their offense and that I could come in and contribute early."
Brown's scholarship list has reached double digits and NC State was the most recent school to pull the trigger.
“They’re really recruiting hard in this area, so it means a lot to get an offer from them and they’ve shown a lot of love. I haven’t visited yet, but plan to go to a game. I want to see the atmosphere and how they treat people.
“The person I’m in contact with is (tight ends) coach (Eddie) Faulkner. I like that he’s honest with me and he’s told me they would love to have me.”
Brown plans to narrow his list to five sometime after his junior season and knows two teams who will make the list.
"Virginia Tech and North Carolina will definitely make the cut," he said. "They've been recruiting me for a long time and I have a great relationship with those coaching staffs."
