Three-star DT Xach Gill enjoys Virginia Tech trip

Wake Forest (N.C.) defensive tackle Xach Gill visited Virginia Tech over the weekend and spoke with Scout following his trip.

"My trip to Virginia Tech was great," Xach Gill said. "We walked around campus and then had lunch. After that, we had an academic information meeting and then watched the game.

"The game was definitely my favorite part and they played great. The defense played lights out and forced a shutout and the offense put points on the board. The atmosphere was live from start to finish."

While in Blacksburg, he was spent the most time with a few specific coaches.

"I spent a lot of time with (defensive line) coach (Charley) Wiles and (defensive coordinator) coach (Bud) Foster," said the 6-foot-4 ½, 284-pound Gill. "They talked to me about where I would into their scheme and about the game."

Before leaving, he spoke with head coach Justin Fuente.

"He called me and my family into his office," Gill said. "We just talked about how our seasons were going and got to know each other. It definitely meant a lot that he took the time to speak to me, especially on a game day."

In regards to his recruitment, Gill has not narrowed his list of schools and does not have any favorites. However, other than Virginia Tech, the main schools he is in contact with are North CarolinaNC StateUCLAVirginia and Tennessee.

He does not have a timeframe for his commitment.
