Marcus Caldwell has played a little bit of everything on offense for the Titans. He's primarily been a running back, but in a loss Friday night, he was also a punt and kick returner, as well as a wide receiver and quarterback.
That versatility has appealed to a number of schools. Offers have come in so far from Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisville and East Carolina.
To this point, though, Caldwell hasn't seen many of his options. His most recent visit was back in July, for Virginia Tech's Blacksburg Bash barbecue.
That trip was Caldwell's first and only time seeing the Hokies' digs in person. But through that and talking regularly with assistant coach Charley Wiles, Caldwell said Virginia Tech is in good position.
"I like the Hokies," Caldwell said. "They’re pretty good. I like their coaching staff. They’re down to earth."
Caldwell has no visits or timeline set, but said he wants to Louisville, North Carolina and Tennessee next.
