2018 Scout300 ATH Ricky Person goes over what schools are standing out most.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- On Friday, Heritage (NC) finished its regular season strong with a road win, thanks in part to the play of its four-star junior running back/linebacker. Afterward, he gave the latest details in his recruitment.

Scout300 athlete Ricky Person didn't have his best game Friday in a 44-21 win Friday night. But he showed plenty of glimpses of why he's been held in such high regard by colleges.

Person finished with 66 yards on 10 carries as a tailback. But that also included an impressive 16-yard touchdown run in which he made a couple of cuts and outraced defenders into the end zone. Person has also played throughout much of the season with a high-sprained ankle.

That big-play ability is a big part of what has Person on the radar of Virginia Tech, Tennessee, South Carolina and others. So far, Person hasn't trimmed his list. But Person mentioned Notre Dame,

Person also has been busy with a few visits. He went to NC State Saturday and on Thursday, he'll be at Duke for the Blue Devils' rivalry game against North Carolina. Person also visited Virginia Tech in September for the East Carolina game and the Hokies have made a strong impression to this point.

"I'm on their top charts for being recruited for them, too," Person said. "They want me to come back.

"Basically, they were just talking about my grades and everything, asked how I was doing."

Person said he also hopes to visit South Carolina soon.
