Coveted 2018 Florida Safety, Chamarri Conner, Has Teamed up With the Virginia Tech Hokies

The Virginia Tech Hokies just dipped into familiar territory to reel in a commitment from 2018 Jacksonville-based safety, Chamarri Conner.

Justin Fuente and the Virginia Tech Hokies just dipped into one of the more talent-rich schools in Florida to secure a verbal commitment from three-star safety, Chamarri Conner, who hails from the same school as Virginia Tech's record-breaking pass catcher in Isaiah Ford.

A 6-foot, 182-pound junior out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian, Conner is a hot commodity on the recruiting front that's registered additional offers from the likes of MichiganFloridaNorth CarolinaSouth CarolinaNC StateOregon State and Wake Forest.

Conner is a young man that flashes great ability when supporting both the run and pass. He will light you up in a hurry with his ability to play with physicality, but his anticipation and awareness when defending the pass is just as impressive.

This is a well-rounded prospect that's very aware of his surroundings between the white lines. You also have to take notice of Conner's closing speed to the football. He can continue to focus on his pad level when striking the ball carrier, but also provides that thud at the point of attack.

Conner is comfortable enough shedding blocks and playing near the scrimmage, but overall, this is an aggressive prospect that has typically has the respect from opposing pass catchers.

As always, stay tuned to Scout.
