He knew it was coming.
Christian Ford is a 5-foot-10, 165 pound junior wide receiver out of Roswell (Ga.). He is part of arguably the top program in the Peach State this season and he received an offer from Virginia Tech this week.
It was offer No. 1 for Ford. He was recently on the Hokie campus with his teammate Malik Willis, who is committed to Virginia Tech, so he knows a little about the program.
"I was up there when they played East Carolina and I loved the atmosphere and the facilities," said Ford. "I also love their offense and how they spread the ball around so well."
Ford has put in a lot of work at his high school as well as i-Dare U, one of the top training programs in the South. He knew the first offer was coming and he feels he deserved it with all of the time and effort he has put in over the years.
This offer from Virginia Tech means something to Ford. It shows they believe in him and he reciprocates the feeling. This is something he has been waiting for.
"It is like a dream come true for me to get my first offer. It is truly a blessing," said Ford.
"They told my coach about the offer, then my coach told my dad, so that is how I found out about the offer.
"They offered because they like my ball skills, how I run routes and my hustle without the ball.
"They will always be at the top of my list."
