Three-star playmaker Caleb Farley enjoys Virginia Tech official visit

Maiden (N.C.) senior playmaker Caleb Farley took his official visit to Virginia Tech this weekend and enjoyed his time in Blacksburg. Following the trip, he spoke with Scout.

Maiden (N.C.) standout Caleb Farley committed to Virginia Tech seven and a half months ago and has not looked back.

Over the weekend, he took his official visit to Blacksburg.

"The visit was great," said the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Farley, who played quarterback throughout his high school career, but will line up at receiver for the Hokies. "I loved the pregame environment on campus. My favorite part was staying at the Village Inn at Virginia Tech."

Farley was impressed with the way his future team performed.

"They played great and executed very well," he said. "I also really liked when they came out to Enter Sandman. It's an amazing experience and something everyone should see."

The Maiden star spent a lot of time with a specific coach on the visit.

"I was around (wide receivers) coach (Holmon) Wiggins the most and we just talked football," Farley said. "I like that he's very straightforward and humble. We both love the game and the grind of football."

He is looking forward to playing for head coach Justin Fuente.

"I'm extremely excited about having the opportunity to play for him," Farley said. "I'm all in when it comes to his ideas and goals. The future is very bright for Virginia Tech football."

Farley said he is 100 percent committed and plans to enroll in January.
