Xach Gill helped lead his team to a big playoff win against rival Heritage last Friday.
With the victory, Wake Forest advances to the North Carolina 4AA State Playoff semifinals and takes on Middle Creek Friday.
"It's a big win, but we have to turn our focus to the next game," said the 6-foot-4 ½, 284-pound Gill. "The key was just playing together as a team and being focused on the same goal."
North Carolina: "I love everything about them," Gill said. "(Defensive line) coach (Tray) Scott, coach (Larry) Fedora and (defensive coordinator) coach (Gene) Chizik - they know how to develop their players to be great on and off the field. We have a great relationship and we communicate all the time. I took my official visit last month and I learned a lot about the academic side of the school."
Virginia Tech: "(Defensive line) coach (Charley) Wiles and (defensive coordinator) coach (Bud) Foster also help their players become great on and off the field. They've had a great season and I've definitely been impressed with coach (Justin) Fuente in his first season. I'm going on my official visit this weekend. I'm looking forward to getting to know the coaching staff better and learning more about the school."
Following his trip to Blacksburg, Gill plans to announce his commitment on Monday.
"It's going to come down to where I feel most at home and where is the best overall fit for me," Gill said.
