ACC, Big Ten OVs for East No. 6 OLB Louis Acceus

Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph linebacker/safety Louis Acceus has three official visits upcoming. He saw the Hokies in September, but where do they stand now?

Louis Acceus, the No. 7 outside linebacker in the East, made a trip to Virginia Tech in late September, and he plans to visit Rutgers for Saturday's home game against Michigan.

Trips to North Carolina and Maryland are also on his mind, and NC StateIndiana and Washington State continues to recruit the 6-foot-1/2, 206-pound standout from St. Joseph Regional.

However, making official visits is not high Acceus' to-do list.

"I'm not really focused on that right now," Acceus said after a double-overtime win against rival Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic. "It's the season, so I have to do my stuff here before making (official) visits."

Previously, Acceus said Maryland was atop his list because of his relationship with the coaching staff.

"I like what they have to offer, and the atmosphere of the campus," Acceus told Scout recently. "I like coach (D.J.) Durkin. He's a nice guy. I feel like I belong there."

The trip to NC State is significant because the Wolfpack got back in touch with Acceus toward the end of the season and renewed their interest.

"They are really nice and down-to-earth," he said recently about the staff. "They treat me like one of their own. I could play for them. They have a lot of talent and they have a good coaching staff."

Meanwhile, Acceus' trip to Virginia Tech will allow him to see the campus and learn more about the program. He visited for a game in the fall, but time issues kept him from touring the campus and learning about the school's academic side of things.

Acceus recently put together his senior highlights (in the video player at the top of the page), and it is easy to see why schools covet him as a safety/outside linebacker hybrid.

He accelerates well, is plus when it comes to change of direction, plays hard and when he makes a tackle, he goes through the player.
