Charlie Strong and South Florida recently put the finishing touches on in regards to securing an official visit with Naytron Culpepper, and now another highly-coveted defensive back out of South Florida is slated to spend a long weekend in Tampa Bay.
Latavious Brini, a Scout 300 cornerback and former Georgia Bulldogs commit out of Hialeah Gardens (Fla.) Mater Academy, says a large part of him deciding to take that next step with the Bulls has to do with newly-hired cornerbacks coach, Corey Bell, who's been recruiting Brini since his days at Florida Atlantic under Charlie Partridge.
"Corey Bell is there," Brini said when asked about his interest in USF. "Corey is a great coach and has been in touch with me since my 10th grade year.
"He said I can come in and play, and that I just have to keep focus and work."
Brini, who's tagged as the 210th-ranked player overall on Scout, says he's also eager to kick back and have that face time with Charlie Strong.
"He's a great coach," Brini said. "He can bring great things to Tampa."
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back has penciled in two additional official visits as well. Virginia Tech will have the opportunity to roll out the red carpet on Jan. 20, while Willie Taggart and Oregon get their shot on the weekend of Jan. 27.
As always, stay tuned to Scout.
