Mekhi Becton took his second of three January official visits to Virginia Tech this weekend.

The 6-foot-7, 300-pound Becton enjoyed his time in Blacksburg.

"The visit was good," Becton said. "I toured the campus and saw the facilities. I also hung out with my host, which was Tim Settle. He was telling me that if I worked hard, I could play early at Virginia Tech. But my favorite part of the visit was going to coach (Justin) Fuente's house."

How does the visit impact his recruitment?

"It effects it a lot and helps Virginia Tech," said Becton, who is also considering LouisvilleMichiganOregon and Virginia . "I saw a lot of new things that I liked -- the new dorms and new classroom buildings. I'm not ready to give a school an edge, but it puts Virginia Tech pretty high."

Becton spent the most time with offensive line coach Vance Vice.

"He's cool and I like how he's always honest with me," Becton said. "We talked a lot about me having a chance to play early."

The Highland Springs standout also talked one-on-one with head coach Justin Fuente.

"It definitely meant a lot that he took the time to sit down and speak to me and I enjoyed the conversation," Becton said. "He told me he wants me bad and that I could play early at Virginia Tech."

Becton will take his final official visit to Oregon next weekend.

He plans to make his commitment on signing day.
