The exhausting part of Victor Dimukeje's recruitment is over. Or, it is just beginning.
The Baltimore Boys' Latin defensive end returned from his Duke official visit and is now set to make his decision. It comes after he made official visits to Michigan State and Pittsburgh the last two weeks, and a trip to Virginia Tech in December. Those are his final four.
"I'm about to sit down with my parents and see what is next," the 6-foot-1 1/2, 254-pound Dimukeje said. "It's the same schools."
Dimukeje, the No. 15 defensive end in the East, also will entertain Hokies coach Justin Fuente and Panthers coach Pat Narduzzi during the week. He already hosted Duke coach David Cutcliffe and Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio for in-homes.
"I will decide before signing day," he said. "I am not going to set a date unless I know I am 100 percent sure where I want to go."
At Duke, Dimukeje was hosted by Tre Hornbuckle and he spent a ton of time speaking with the coaching staff.
"It was good," he said. "Just like other visits, I got a better feel for the school, academic-wise and football-wise. It was great (being with the players). All the current players showed me love. It was a great visit. I enjoyed being around the coaches. It was a great visit."
There was also one thing that stood out.
"I would probably say the players," Dimukeje said. "It was the players and their attitude, and their relationship with the coaches was amazing."
The official visit included watching Duke men's basketball team host Miami -- "It was crazy. It was jumpin' and the crowd was loud," Dimukeje said -- and also touring the campus.
"I knew it had good academics," he said, "but spending time with the athletic training staff and the weight lifting coach, they have great ones there."
