Nathan Proctor, the No. 9 outside linebacker in the 2017 class, is sticking with his Virginia Tech commitment and will sign with the Hokies on Wednesday.

The Indian Head (Md.) Lackey standout announced for the Hokies in early January, but made an official visit to Pittsburgh on Jan. 13, and hosted the Panthers' staff, including coach Pat Narduzzi, earlier this week.

"He is staying with Tech, He really liked the staff at Pitt but felt the most comfortable with Virginia Tech," Proctor's coach, John Lush, said. "He liked the environment there. He liked that feel. He is big big on relationships and so is his family, and they really felt at home there."

Proctor, who is 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, announced for the Hokies during the Under Armor All-Ameirica game in early January. He met with several Virginia Tech coaches this week and informed both staffs of his decision.

"The lunch pail defense is something I wanna be a part of," Proctor said when he committed. "I see what they’re building and I see what coach Justin Fuente is building.”
