Brooks Down To Two; Decision Forthcoming

It is a big week for prospects out of the state of Virginia this week. Kellam's Greg Nosal is deciding Tuesday, Varina's Davon Morgan will decide Wednesday, and Denbigh High School offensive lineman Jaymes Brooks will officially announce on Friday.

"Yes sir I'm making my announcement on Friday," Jaymes Brooks said Monday evening. "I think the local newspaper is going to be there and a few of my family and friends. It'll be noonish or 1ish at a restaurant here."

Brooks was offered by Maryland, Florida, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, before narrowing his list to two recently. He noted that the Virginia Tech Hokies and Florida Gators are his final two choices.

"It's down to Tech and Florida," Brooks noted on Monday evening. "I like Tech because they're a good in-state powerhouse and the class is looking real good. They've got a lot top recruits coming. They're looking real good."

Brooks visited Tech for a track meet at the beginning of 2006 but has yet to visit Florida. "Florida has a good class coming in too," Brooks said.

Brooks notes that he's up to 6'3, 297-pounds. Stay tuned to VTInsider for his decision later this week.
