Hokies Land Commitment No. 7

Virginia Tech continued its roll of commitments when Nease High (Pontre Vedra, Fla.) defensisve end Matt Roth made a non-binding oral commitment to become the Hokies' seventh member of the 2011 recruiting class.

It may be summer, but the snowball effect is working beautiful for Virginia Tech.

The Hokies continued to reel in commitments during this crucial time, on Wednesday getting one from Nease High (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) defensive end Matt Roth.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Roth had dozens of offers, including ones from West Virginia, South Carolina and Michigan State.

It marks the third straight day the Hokies landed a commitment, and is the fifth in an eight-day span.

Roth made 88 tackles and had 13½ sacks as a junior. He also made 27 tackles for loss, forced four fumbles and recovered two.
