The Class of 2015 is halfway there for Oklahoma, but it’s never too early to start dissecting what the Sooners are up to for 2016.
Here is a list of OU’s offers at every position and one name to watch. The name to watch isn’t necessarily the most likely to commit but just a name to keep on your radar going forward.
West Des Moines (Iowa) Valley’s John Raridon (6-4, 270, No. 2 OG)
Washington D.C. Carroll’s Richard Merritt (6-5, 325, No. 3)
Silsbee (Texas) High’s Patrick Hudson (6-5, 320, No. 6)
Woodberry Forest (Va.) High’s Clark Yarbrough (6-6, 255, No. 20)
Hyattsville (Md.) Dematha Catholic’s J.P. Urquidez (6-5, 295, NR)
One to watch: Yarbrough. Always a great sign when a non-regional recruit decides on his own he wants to make the long unofficial trip to Norman like Yarbrough did two weeks ago. Little is the crown jewel, but it doesn’t feel like OU’s success at Allen will include him. Yarbrough is no slam dunk, obviously, but Sooners off to the right start in that department.
OKPreps to watch: Broken Arrow’s Rowdy Frederick. Someone who only got better each time Sooners Illustrated saw him in action this summer. From the three-day OKPreps team camp at Mustang to the three-day camp at OU in June, Frederick just steadily kept making more plays and looking more comfortable. Broken Arrow has few names to watch out for in 2016, and Frederick is certainly one of them.
