London Happy with Team's Efforts at Camp

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-- UVa head coach Mike London met with the media on Thursday to discuss the biggest position battles on the team. Is anyone standing out?

Virginia football head coach Mike London had plenty to talk about on Thursday when he met with the media on Thursday. The Cavaliers are going through a couple of position battles as the countdown to the season continues. But one question continues to linger, where do they stand without wide receiver T.J. Thorpe

London is very impressed with his wide receiver group, who has been hit by the injury bug as of late. Thorpe is out for approximately ten weeks after breaking his clavicle during scrimmage, however, Canaan Severin and Andre Levrone were also dealing with their own upper body injuries. According to London, Severin is in fact practicing, while Levrone could return relatively soon; however, Doni Dowling's status remains in the air, as the wide out continues to rehab from a torn ACL.

During this time, London has seen a couple of the other wide receivers step up including true freshman David Eldridge, junior Keeon Johnson, and junior Kyle Dockins. The 'Hoos will also utlize the men in the backfield in the passing game until the wide out unit is solidified, and the running backs group is also going through a position battle of their own.

UVa head coach Mike London discusses the battle between Taquan MizzellAlbert ReidJordan Ellis, and Olamide Zaccheaus at running back, the battle on the offensive line and defensive line in the video above.
