The Targets

Several big-time targets will be on had as well, and here is where each of them stand in their recruitment.

TyJuan Garbutt is a regular visitor to Grounds. The Fredericksburg (Va.) has already made three trips to Virginia since the spring, including one during the first weekend of training camp this month. The Wahoos are in a very good place with Garbutt early on. Pittsburgh was the first school to pull the trigger, however, UVa was not to far behind. Other schools in the mix include: Penn State, Syracuse, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Wake Forest, and Michigan State.

Another Fredericksburg native Yetur Matos will also be on Grounds this weekend. Matos has plenty of suitors with many other showing interest. The Chancellor High playmaker's offer list includes Clemson, Maryland, Duke, Penn State, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech among others. Matos told us this month that the Tigers and the Nittany Lions were the two schools recruiting him the hardest at the moment.

Mekhi Becton picked up his offer from the Cavaliers after his performance in UVa's camp this summer. The offensive tackle also holds a Delaware State offer. The 2017 lineman is one to watch this fall as more college programs discover his talent at Highland Springs.

K'Vaughan Pope is the lone 2018 recruit on this list, however, he is one the Cavaliers want to be in on early. The 'Hoos have already offered the big-time wide receiver from Dinwiddie, who also holds an offer from N.C. State. Tennessee is also interested in the 6-foot-2, 210 pounder. His recruitment will likely explode this fall.

Dylan Rivers is a four-star linebacker who holds offers from Clemson, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, NC State, Penn State, and Virginia Tech among others. In Rivers case it will be an up hill battle for the 'Hoos, however, getting him on Grounds is one step in climbing back up.

Tye Freeland is Pope's teammate at Dinwiddie, and is a priority target for the Cavs in this class. Freeland is also seeing interest from Wake Forest.

**UPDATED: New Visitor Added Friday afternoon**

Jalon Jones is a 2019 quarterback/athlete from Richmond (Va.) Varina High School. Jones already holds an offer from Virginia. He is one to watch this fall as he gets more exposure.
