Virginia football hosted a big group on Tuesday, the Woodberry Forest football team. The Tigers have plenty of talent with several of its players holding division one offers. Among those in attendance were two 2017 UVa targets, three-star quarterback Lindell Stone and tight end John Kirven.
Stone holds double-digit offers including Indiana, Purdue, UCLA, Virginia, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Temple, Tulane and West Virginia. Stone is no stranger to Grounds, the 6-foot-2, 210 pounder also made the trip to Charlottesville this summer, when he participated in UVa's one-day camp. During his recent trip to Grounds, Stone was again able to connect with the staff.
"It was great," said Stone in a message. "I got to speak with [UVa Head] Coach [Mike] London for a while and also [UVa Offensive Coordinator] Steve Fairchild, [Defensive Coordinator Jon] Tenuta and [UVa Offensive Line Coach Dave] Borbely."
Kirven is also no stranger to Grounds, since his brother, Caid, is a walk-on for the UVa basketball team. The Cavaliers offered the 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end in the spring, and he is also attracting interest from Virginia Tech, Clemson, Duke, Stanford and Wake Forest.
"It was a lot of fun; nice to see all the coaches again," texted Kirven. "I followed the tight end group around, and I liked the intensity of practice."
Scout will be on hand for Woodberry Forest's opening game against Bishop McNamara on Friday night. Full updates with Stone and Kirven will soon follow.
