A look at the top headlines around UVa Sports

HooNation.com takes a look at the big headlines surrounding UVa sports in "Cavalier Blitz."

This Friday's "Cavalier Blitz" is different. I wasn't able to do a video this week, so here is just a quick summary of the headlines.

Few Visitors on Saturday

The UVa football team will host a few visitors on Saturday, however, don't expect a large group like last weekend. The 'Hoos will host commits: Cole BlackmanSonny AbramsonMatt Terrell and Andrew Trainer. As fr as targets, Woodberry Forest quarterback Lindell Stone is expected at the game and there will be a few guys UVa is still evaluating and who have camped at Scott Stadium

Godwin two-way lineman Antione Whitner Jr. tells Scout he might also be on Grounds on Saturday, however, nothing is set.

Waiting Game

The 'Hoos continue to wait on Laderrien Wilson's decision. The three-star running back took an official visit to Virginia last weekend, and said he would make his announcement this week. Wilson is set to choose between Miami, Florida State and Virginia.

Both the UVa men's soccer team and the women's soccer team are home this weekend. On Friday George Gelonovatch's men host NC State on Friday night in hopes of extending their unbeaten streak, while the ladies return to action on Sunday against Syracuse.

Top Ten Battle

The fourth-ranked UVa field hockey team will host a top ten battle in Charlottesville with No. 7 Duke in town. The game is set for 6 PM on Friday at the University Hall turf field. The Cavaliers are one of five unbeaten teams in the country.

That's it for Cavalier Blitz, we will return on Monday in our usual format.
