UVA Receiver Doni Dowling Wants to Play for London

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-- Virginia wide receiver Doni Dowling is back in the lineup after suffering a pair of knee injuries. The sophomore is eager to return to help Mike London and the Cavs turn around their season.

Virginia wide receiver Doni Dowling is finally back in the line up for the Wahoos. The sophomore tore his left ACL in the winter, and then in the fall tore his right meniscus. However, Dowling was cleared and back for the 'Hoos last weekend, for UVA's ACC opener. Although, the door has not closed yet for Dowling to medical red-shirt, he told reporters on Monday, he woudl do anything to help Mike London and the coaches to stay at Virginia.

"I put trust in them [in the UVA coaches] because without them I wouldn’t be here. They wouldn’t steer me wrong. My family wanted me to redshirt. Other coaches that I really admire wanted me to redshirt," said Dowling.

"Knowing there’s a lot going on and a lot on Coach London right now and his staff, and I love having them around," he added.  "If I could do anything, I’m going to do what I can."

Dowling talks more about playing for London and returning from injury in the video above.
