Virginia safety Kelvin Rainey is confident ahead of Miami on Saturday. Rainey discusses his play at linebacker last week against Georgia Tech, his position this week against Miami and much more.
On his move to LB last week against GT: Rainey said they knew all week, they wanted to move him to linebacker so Michael Moore could return to his normal defenise end. Rainey says he received a lot of one-on-one coaching from Defensive Coordinator Jon Tenuta. Rainey added that he would miss playing linebacker this week because it felt so natural to him. He also say he picked up some good pass rushing and blitzing techniques that will definitley help him.
What they can learn from win over GT: Rainey says although they won't face another triple option this season, it just shows what this defense can do if everyone executes and stays on assignment. He added the defense is very confident after forcing two more turnovers as well.
On Miami: Raiey says the defense knows that the Canes have speed. Brad Kaaya has started to practice with the Hurrcianes after missing the Duke game due to a concussion, but whether or not he plays, the defense trains and practices the exact same way.
