Virginia men's basketball is hitting the road for its first away game of the season. The sixth ranked Cavs travel to George Washington on Monday night after blowing past Morgan State 86-48 in its season opener last Friday.
The Last Time Out vs. GW
Justin Anderson had a game-high 18 points and Malcolm Brogdon 15 to help Virginia beat George Washington 59-42. UVA trailed at the half 26-22 but outscored the Colonials 37-16 in the second half, out-rebounding them 41-28 and shooting 11.1% from three-point range.
Behind Enemy Lines
George Washington opened up its season with a 85-76 with over Lafayette on Friday. The front court dominated in the season opener for the Colonials. Kevin Larsen had 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Tyler Cavanaugh had 15 points and 17 rebounds. Patricio Garino also helped the offense last week scoring 17 points, including two three pointers.
Depth and Paint are Keys
GW does not have a lot of depth and most of the starters are expected to play most of the minutes, and as UVA showed in its opener it has plenty of depth and can rest many of its starters without much change.
The Colonials are a physical team and without many scorers, they will be reliant on the big men, so controlling the paint will be key in the win.
The game is set to tip off at 7:30 PM on ESPN 2.
