Malcolm Brogdon was the leader Virginia needed on Tuesday. For the third straight game the senior guard scored 20 points, leading the Cavaliers to the 64-58 win over Ohio State with 22 points. The Cavs won their fifth straight game this season to move to 6-1 on the year.
The Cavs lead 26-24 at the break, and the Buckeyes were never out of the game. After some and back forth early in the second half, Devon Hall's jumper handed the 'Hoos two point lead with 12:55 to go, and it would be the final lead change of the game. Ohio State would keep the game close to the final second. Keita Bates-Diop's triple made it 61-58, but Brogdon iced the game with a pair of free throws and handing Virginia's tenth Big Ten/ACC Challenge win.
UVa was without Perrantes in the win. The junior guard had an appendectomy on Sunday and was ruled out for the game. No word from the Cavaliers on whether or not Perrantes will be ready to suit up next Saturday, when the 'Hoos host William and Mary.
