Virginia men's basketball's depth and talent were too much for William and Mary on Saturday. The Cavaliers handled the Tribe to a 67-52 win to secure their sixth straight win.
Malcolm Brogdon scored the first eight points putting the 'Hoos in control from the beginning. The 'Hoos then went on a 16-2 run which put the Cavs up 24-6 in the first half. The Tribe would come back to pull within six after an 8-0 run themselves with 4:55 to go in the first half, however, that was put to rest after an alley-oop from Darius Thompson to Devon Hall. The 'Hoos led by ten at halftime.
William and Mary kept it close with some shots from the outside, but Thompson once again the difference maker. With 3:54 to go, Thompson right handed jam on top of a Tribe forward extended the 'Hoos lead to 59-44.
Virginia had three players to end with double figures: Brogdon (16), Anthony Gill, and Thompson (12)
UVA was very opportunistic in the win, scoring 20 points off of turnovers.
The 'Hoos were without London Perrantes on Saturday-the point guard had an appendectomy last weekend. According to UVA head coach Tony Bennett, the team will evaluate Perrantes during practice on Sunday.
