Bronco Mendenhall was officially introduced as Virginia football's next head coach on Monday, and one person keeping a close eye on the situaion was UVA pledge Tre Harbison. Harbison committed to former Cavalier head coach Mike London in April, and he is set to early enroll at the University. After talkng to Mendenhall, the three-star running back felt more at ease in his decision.
"I like him. I think he will turn things around," said Harbison. "He has some coach London characteristics. He is very serious about winning and we have the talent to do it."
Since London's departure, Harbison has remained in contact with the school through assistants Marques Hagans and Chris Beatty, who are both awaiting their own fates.
"I hope either Beatty or Hagans stay."
Both Hagans and Beatty are the only two assistants still out recruiting for the Cavs with Hagans stopping in North Carolina last weekend to check out Harbison. Although, his future and Beatty's future at Virginia is still up in the air, Harbison's future is certain.
"I'm ready to hit the ground running at UVA get this winning process started."
